Human beings have been looked at from different perspectives that, sometimes, considered humans as only flesh and bones seeking lust and pleasure. Other schools of thought defined humans as much more complicated creatures that are dignified with the possession of soul, spirit, and mind.
In fact, the Islāmic approach was able to reconcile with humans by precisely understanding and clearly conceptualizing what is meant by a "human being". This question of defining humanity, humans and society was the main incentive and inspiration behind the great movement of the scientific renaissance in the Islāmic history, which has helped immensely in redefining what does a human being represent.
Analyzing the history of Muslims and science, you can obviously see that Muslims have been working hand in hand with science in order to better off, improve and upgrade the quality of life.
Such rich contribution of Muslims could be easily noticed to the extent that anyone can relate what we have said to the actual achievements and inventions done by Muslim scholars in order to help humanity, like al-Khwarizmi who advanced algebra and made algorithms, or Ibn Al-Haytham who is known as the father of modern optics, or Ibn Khaldun who is considered as one of the founders of sociology.
Following the same blessed path, many contemporary Muslim scholars, inventors and researchers have dedicated their lives and resources to provide humanity with what it deserves. Having said that, we would like to leave you with the following presentation expounding on a very valuable and miraculous contribution to humanity; the bionic hand made by PSYONIC.

Is Islam a religion that supports and champions science? Such a question is the product of the new wave of Islamophobia. In fact, Islam has always invited everyone, scholars, people, and individuals, to seek knowledge and study nature.
It’s is the very first chapter -Surat al-Fatiha which Muslims read at least 5 times a day- that urges Muslims to seek, unveil, and discover the wisdom and truth behind the creation of everything. It is that divine call to dig deeper in the universe and know more about its secrets and wonderful nature that allows us to reach the greatest achievement; knowing the miraculous creatures of Allah, which is an evidence about the oneness of Allah or the monotheistic belief.
“You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help. Guide us on the straight path, the path of those who have received your grace; not the path of those who have brought down wrath, nor of those who wander astray” (1:5-7).
According to this enlightened understanding that deems the world and humanity as the major elements of cooperation and coexistence, the Islamic Center in Ecuador- Mezquita Assalam, has embarked on a series of events discussing and expounding on the positive and rich relationship between Islam and Science.
On the 17th of September, Dr. Juan Suquillo, the director of the Islamic Center, participated in a conference focused on the same topic in the Axxis Hospital and the International University of Ecuador (UIDE- Universidad internacional del Ecuador).
The event has also witnessed the powerful and inspirational participation of PSYONIC and its founder and CEO, Dr. Aadeel Akhtar. PSYONIC was able to invent an advanced bionic hand that’s capable of feeling sensation and other complicated specification.

Islam, this is a word that has been always considered as a powerful term for bringing peace and light to a world full of wars and darkness.
Islam has also highlighted the importance of science and knowledge, not only as a means for prosperity and success but also as a path towards self-enlightenment and self-growth.
The Quranic verses along with the Prophetic Sayings (Hadith\hadiz) have repeatedly reiterated the fact that every Muslim should seek knowledge, enrich his mentality, and empower his mind.

- Allah Says:” Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.” [Sahih International Translation, 2:164].
- Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim." - [Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 74].
- Also in a Hasan (fine) hadith, Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him, said, “The wise saying is the lost property of the believer, so wherever he finds it then he has a right to it.”- [Sunan At-Tirmidhi, 2687].
- In Sahih Muslim, Book 42, Hadith 7058, the Prophet said: “Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make his path to paradise easy.”.
All praises are due to Allah, the Islamic Center in Quito, Ecuador – Mezquita Assalam has held an event expounding on the new achievements and progress in the making of the robotic hand\advanced prosthetic limp that is capable of holding, sensing and controlling things.
Dr. Juan Suquillo, the director of the Islamic Center in Ecuador- Mezquita Assalam, stated that Islam and Science were and are always working together, hand in hand.
“We do not consider science as a field opposing religion, but rather a way that shows us the greatness of Allah and the complexity of his creation”, Suquillo added.

Staring form 9 Muslims in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, the Islamic Center in Ecuador- Assalam Mosque has grown to form a community of more than 6000 Muslims. Being the first Islamic center in the Republic of Ecuador, it is known for its humanitarian aid and community services provided to the entire society, in all levels. Dr. Juan Suquillo, the president and director of the Islamic Center in Ecuador, stated how Ramadan is perceived by the eyes of the Muslims community:“Fasting the holy month of Ramadan is a great opportunity and master for the Muslims in order to train, sharpen and disciple our souls and spirits. It is a month that fuels our souls with the needed energy to cope with the rest of the year”.
The Islamic Center in Ecuador – Assalam Mosque has been always known for its humanitarian aid, charitable work and giving supported by international organizations and communities in the times of crisis, such as the dreadful events which occurred in Manabí, the Ecuadorian province. In 2016, Manabí was hit by an earthquake resulting in the killing of almost 700 people and more than 16500 casualties. The Islamic Center in Ecuador has played a great role in alleviating their pain and providing the Manabí families with all sorts of assistance and help to the affected families by the natural disaster.

بدءاً من 9 أفراد مسلمين في كيتو، عاصمة الإكوادور -جاؤوا قبل الحرب العالمية الثانية- انتشر الإسلام ليصبح عدد المسلمين قرابة 6000 مسلم تحت راية المركز الإسلامي بالإكوادور، مسجد السلام، الذي يعتبر أول مركز إسلامي بجمهورية الإكوادور، الذي يُعرف بمساعداته الإنسانية وخدماته المجتمعية تجاه كافة المحتاجين على كافة الأصعدة.
وفيما يخص أثر شهر رمضان الكريم في نفوس المجتمع الإسلامي عبر د. يحيى خوان سوكيليو، رئيس المركز الإسلامي بالإكوادور، عن كيفية التعامل ورؤية الشهر المبارك من خلال أعين مسلمي الإكوادور، قائلاً: إن صيام شهر رمضان المبارك هو فرصة عظيمة لنا حيث نعتبره المُعلم الذي يدرب ويهذب ويشحذ الأرواح والهمم، إنه شهر واحد يزودنا بالطاقة والإيمانيات اللازمة لباقي العام بصورة صحيحة.
ولطالما عُرف المركز الإسلامي بالإكوادور –مسجد السلام- بخدماته ومساهماته الإنسانية وأعماله الخيرية وعطائه المدعوم من المنظمات والمجتمعات الدولية في أوقات الأزمات والكوارث الطبيعية مثلما حدث في مقاطعة مانابي الإكوادورية، أحد الأحداث المروعة في عام 2016م هو الزلزال الكارثي الذي ضرب مقاطعة مانابي؛ مما أسفر عن مقتل ما يقرب من 700 شخص وإصابة أكثر من 16500 فرد، فأدى المركز الإسلامي بالإكوادور في ذلك الوقت دوراً محورياً ومهماً من خلال تقديم كل أنواع الدعم والمساعدة للعائلات المتضررة جراء تلك الكارثة الطبيعة وهو ما ساهم في تخفيف آلامهم بشكل ملحوظ.
وأضاف د. سوكيليو: قلوبنا وأبوابنا دائماً مفتوحة لمساعدة الجميع، المتضررين في زلزال مانابي المأساوي وكل من يعانون من أي احتياج، نرسل لعائلات مانابي أحر السلام والتحايا من المركز الإسلامي بالإكوادور – كيتو، ومن المجتمع الإسلامي بالإكوادور ومن كافة المراكز الإسلامية التي تعتبر جزءاً من المظلة الكبيرة للاتحاد الإسلامي بالإكوادور، ولكل العائلات في مانابي، نحن متحدون قلباً وعقلاً وروحاً، فلتحيا مانابي، نسأل الله أن يحفظكم ويؤيدكم وينير دروبكم.

Narrated AbuHurayrah Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, ‘When someone with whose religion and character you are satisfied asks your daughter in marriage, accede to his request. Ibn Umar (r.a.) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following: “The place of prayer (salah) in religion is like the place of the head in the body.”(Majmau’l-Awsat, 3:154, (2313.) Imam Tabarani, Mu’jamu’s-Saghir)
Narró Abu Sa'id que el Profeta(que la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sean con él)salía el día del desayuno y el día del sacrificio al lugar de la oración, y comenzaba con la oración, luego se paraba y disertaba ante la gente que permanecía en sus filas sentados, invitándolos al bien y ordenándoles sus obligaciones.
